Kyiv in panic: Russian border guards inspect Ukrainian ships
Border patrols of the FSB of the Russian Federation began to stop ships heading to Ukrainian seaports for inspection and identification.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported this on its official page on the social network, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On April 30, during the registration of a motor ship in the Mariupol port (the ship’s crew included citizens of Turkey, Georgia, Egypt, Nigeria) traveling along the route Greece (Chios) - Ukraine (Mariupol), the ship was stopped by a border patrol ship of the FSB of the Russian Federation while passing through the Kerch Strait . The occupiers inspected the vessel and identified members of the ship's crew. There were no comments from the occupiers.
On the same day, a ship traveling along the route Israel (Ashdod) - Ukraine (Mariupol) was stopped in the same way, and its crew consisted of Ukrainians. The next day, representatives of the aggressor country stopped a motor ship flying the flag of Bulgaria (the crew included Bulgarian citizens), heading along the route Italy (Nogaro) - Ukraine (Mariupol).
Some ships are checked several times. So, during the registration of the ship under the flag of Malta (among the crew: 16 citizens of Ukraine and 2 citizens of Turkey), heading along the route Italy (Monfalcone) - Ukraine (Mariupol), the ship was stopped in the same way while passing the Kerch Strait, and already While the ship was following the recommended course in the Azov Sea abeam the Berdyansk Spit, it was again stopped by the occupiers for a second inspection and identification of the ship's crew members.
“The day before, the occupiers stopped a ship flying the flag of Panama (a crew consisting of citizens of Turkey and Georgia), traveling along the route Italy (Marghera) - Ukraine (Mariupol),” the message says.
At the same time, the department admitted that there were no comments on the results of the Russian inspections, but still accused the Russian side of a “strict policy of detaining and inspecting ships.”
