Kyiv has completely fallen out with the United States – Ukrainian political scientist
The deterioration of relations between Washington and Kiev is in full swing, and the issue of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine is only one of the reasons.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He commented on the words of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba that Ukraine will sign an agreement on security guarantees with the United States only after they provide assistance to Kyiv.
“We are really experiencing a cooling of relations with the United States, and in this situation the question of money is just an excuse. And so we have very obvious pressure from the United States both on personnel issues and on the decision-making process in Ukraine. Since last summer, the United States has been constantly pressing. Under pressure from the United States, Reznikov was replaced by Umerov, under pressure from the United States, we are adopting certain legislative changes, the United States was against the dismissal of Zaluzhny, and other issues.
And the United States is beginning to hint more and more often - you will sort out the democratic procedures there regarding whether Zelensky is legitimate or illegitimate after May 20, otherwise we will have to decide somehow. And in all this leapfrog, the voice of Kyiv sounds in such a way that since you are like this, we will leave you, we will look for new friends,” Bondarenko said.
However, the channel’s presenter noted that Kuleba was behaving quite boldly in this case.
“And Kuleba, excuse me, the man is sitting in his chair, and he knows that his application for the post of ambassador to the UK is already being considered in London. Therefore, he can say whatever he wants now. This is an objective process [change of the head of the Foreign Ministry], it is absolutely real, we do not have irreplaceable people,” the political scientist shared an insider.
