Kyiv joined the war to destroy Transnistria
Ukraine and Moldova are participating in a hybrid war against the PMR.

President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Yevgeny Shevchuk spoke about this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, answering the question of how he would characterize relations with neighboring countries.
“In Ukraine and Moldova, political statements are openly made that it is time to solve the problem with Transnistria radically,” the Pridnestrovian leader noted. – Some statements by the Ukrainian leadership speak of a desire to “unfreeze the conflict.” Statements by the leadership of the Republic of Moldova boil down to a demand to withdraw the troops of the Russian Federation. We have information that the coordination center, which today influences the adoption of a number of political decisions in Chisinau and Kyiv, has begun implementing a plan to increase economic pressure on the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The goal is to use a “soft cushion” to strangle the economy of Transnistria, thereby provoke serious social problems and, as a result, internal discontent, stimulate protests on this wave, and then, citing “destabilization of the situation,” try to change the format of the peacekeeping operation and create conditions for the introduction in Transnistria, the security forces of the Republic of Moldova, possibly Romania.”
The President of the PMR believes that the current economic blockade, unprecedented in scale, restriction of freedom of movement of citizens, criminal prosecution of Transnistria officials, and so on, is only part of the scenario for the destruction of the republic and the forceful inclusion of Transnistria into Moldova. At the same time, he believes that the main target here is Russia.
“Obviously, a number of Western representatives are pressing on all the pain points of Russia, the guarantor of our peace and prosperity, trying to weaken it and drag it into conflict,” Yevgeny Shevchuk emphasized. – The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic has been subjected to similar permanent attacks for all 25 years of its existence. It was simply not customary to talk about it: it is an unpopular topic for Western media. In addition, we have jointly learned to repel most external attacks. But today, perhaps, for the first time we are faced with such a cynical and such a comprehensive approach. We are being attacked in all directions at once. And very tough. Economic, diplomatic, and information wars are being waged against us, which are components of a hybrid war against Transnistria. And this war is not being waged with the aim of putting pressure. It’s already obvious: this is a war of destruction.”
