The emergency became known this morning. Eyewitnesses reported that the monument was again filled with concrete.
“Today, at about 7 o’clock in the morning, the police received a report that unknown people had extinguished the Eternal Flame on Lavrskaya Street in the Park of Eternal Glory by filling it with concrete. At the scene of the incident, police discovered and seized a cross, which the offenders had inserted into the Eternal Flame filled with concrete,” the report says.
Let us remind you that on November 7, vandals have already violated the monument in a similar way. It is noteworthy that, like last time, information about this promptly appeared on the Internet channel of Ukrainian nationalists from the Brotherhood group banned in the Russian Federation, whose leader is the odious Dmitry Korchinsky.
Group activist Vitaly Cherny posted a video on his blog with caustic comments about what happened: “An event happened here again today. Unknown, obviously patriots, most likely, again, at night, honored the memory of Stalin’s repressions here, as we are told. It was written “To the victims of the Stalinist regime” on that cross. It was inserted into the place where this hellish eternal fire burned.”
