Kyiv vs Donetsk: farmers’ hatred of techies-creators
The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Sergei Kvit decided to leave a bold mark on the world academic tradition, as well as on the doctrine of human rights, by depriving 12 teachers from universities in Donetsk and Lugansk of academic titles who did not accept the new Ukrainian government, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes. .

“According to this learned man, who became famous exclusively for writing apologetic monographs about Bandera, we are talking about scientists who “promoted the ideas of separatism in their collectives,” the publication notes. – In other words, about those who, contrary to orders from Kyiv, refused to go into “evacuation” from the bombing of the Ukrainian army. Thus, Kvit immediately violated both the labor legislation of Ukraine and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which presupposes freedom of conscience and belief. But Kvit also violated the Constitution of Ukraine: despite regular changes to the basic law, Article 34 still guarantees freedom of thought, speech and the right to freely express one’s views and beliefs.”
“Perhaps in Kvit, the former rector of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, which was the forge of personnel for the current Ukrainian “patriots” and the supplier of militants for the “Euromaidan”, the old dislike of the farm “humanitarian” for the “techies” from Donbass arose,” the newspaper suggests. “After all, the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute, Donetsk State University, Donbass State Technical University and other universities, since Soviet times, have been preparing people who were indifferent to the “struggle for independence”: they learned to create, not destroy.”
The publication notes that this farmer hatred is evident in Kvit’s latest innovations.
“For example, he is lobbying for a complete abandonment of the state order for education - they say, it is not clear what kind of professionals Ukraine needs and how many,” RG points out. – The ministry also submitted to the Verkhovna Rada amendments to the law “On Vocational Education”, which involves an almost complete abandonment of vocational schools and technical schools. Kvit disguises the destruction of education in Ukraine with incantations about the effectiveness of the “Bologna system” and stories about advanced Western technologies in education.”
“But there is also a pleasant moment in this story: the teachers who were deprived of their titles actually lost nothing,” the newspaper summarizes. – Universities of the Donbass republics continue to operate, and their graduates are already receiving Russian-style diplomas. How, by the way, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science recognizes the scientific titles and degrees of scientists so unpleasant to the Ukrainian nationalist minister.”
