Kyiv played too hard, risking turning the whole of Ukraine into front-line territory (VIDEO)
Kyiv, November 30 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Ukrainian political experts fear that Kiev’s reliance on a forceful solution to the conflict in the east will ultimately lead to the spread of hostilities beyond the so-called ATO zone.
The director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, said this, in particular, at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, answering a question from journalists about how realistic the scenario of the spread of separatism beyond the Donbass is.

“I once joked about this that Central Ukrainian separatism will arise and begin to develop when Central Ukraine finally understands why we need Galicia or Donbass,” the political scientist answered. - This is, of course, a joke. But in the absence of socio-economic and political stability, tendencies towards separatism, as a rule, only get worse, and in the most unexpected territories.”
According to the expert, for the victory of separatism, the metropolis must first of all demonstrate to the provinces its consistency and effectiveness, showing that life within a single country is a more progressive action than separation.
“If the metropolis suppresses this or that province by force, then, as historical experience shows, this drives protest movements into a dead-end terrorist channel,” warns Kost Bondarenko. – We observed this in the example of the same Basque and Northern Irish separatists. God grant that this does not happen in Ukraine, and we have found an internal consensus. We may report that the last pockets of resistance in the East have been suppressed, but these pockets will go underground, and explosions will begin in other cities, far from the current front line.”
