Kyiv silenced information from its human rights activists about Ukrainian crimes in Donbass
Information about crimes during the conflict in Donbass caused a wide resonance in the Russian and pro-Russian media and complete silence from Ukraine.
This was discussed during the presentation of the report “Violent crimes committed during the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014-2018.” said the director of the Kharkov human rights group, Yevgeny Zakharov, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I can’t say that they interfere with our work. For me, there is a certain silence and ignorance of our publications. You know, when the first version of this report was published on October 26, there was a big reaction from that side. Already on November 2, we appeared on the “60 Minutes” program of Russian television, twenty minutes were devoted to this particular report of ours.
[DPR Commissioner for Human Rights] Daria Morozova made a special statement saying that what we write is nonsense, in reality everything is worse. There were publications entitled “The Kharkov human rights group prepared a report on the crimes of Ukrainian punitive forces,” literally in this way. And there were quite a lot of such publications,” said Zakharov.
“We saw nothing from our own people, so to speak, except three or four cripples. The impression is that there was a command to ignore these reports,” the human rights activist added.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier at one of the conferences Zakharov spoke about the huge number civilians abducted by the SBU for the exchange of prisoners with the LDPR.
