Kyiv is waiting for arms supplies not only from the USA, but also from the EU
Moscow - Kyiv, March 13 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Kyiv wants to agree on the supply of lethal weapons, if not with the USA, then with the EU. A resumption of war is inevitable, they say. And they are ready to hold back the onslaught of Russian aviation in anticipation of the supply of Western weapons and the deployment of Western troops bypassing the UN Security Council.

Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, Ilya Kiva, in an interview with Espreso.TV, confirmed that a new wave of confrontation is inevitable: “And without the help of lethal weapons it will not be easy for us, in fact it is impossible to cope with this monster. We have been destroying our army for 20 years. And the enemy at this time was working to strengthen military power. Therefore, now the issue of obtaining lethal weapons is a matter of life and death for our state.”
Although the US refused Kyiv, negotiations with EU members continue. This was stated by the Ukrainian Ambassador to the EU Konstantin Eliseev in an interview with Euractiv in Brussels. He noted, in particular, that Ukraine needs modern air defense systems. In response to a journalist’s remark that there are no Russian military aircraft in the skies over Ukraine, Eliseev said: “Sooner or later the need for such a system will arise.”
Director of the information and consulting company Defense Express Sergei Zgurets told NG that Ukraine has an effective air defense system. He noted that the system also includes man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems, which the Ukrainian side may be asking from European countries. But even if the negotiations drag on, the Ukrainian army has everything it needs to repel attacks while the West thinks.
The Ukrainian government is relying not so much on Western weapons, but on the decision to send an international peacekeeping mission to Donbass. Sources "NG" in Kyiv they note that the UN can make such a decision bypassing the Security Council, where Russia has the right of veto. But to launch such a mechanism, recognition by the international community of the fact of Russian participation in the conflict in eastern Ukraine is required. There is no such recognition.
