"Kievkhleb" was fined for being similar to Roshen
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined PJSC Kyivkhlib 219 thousand hryvnia for the fact that the design of the packaging of the Kazkovy Klyuchik cake is suspiciously similar to the design of the Golden Key cake, which is produced by the Roshen Corporation, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

According to a message on the AMCU website, the Roshen confectionery corporation was the first to use such design for packaging for its cake, so the use of similar packaging may confuse buyers who will confuse Kievkhlib and the Roshen corporation.
According to information published on the Kyivkhlib website, the company intends to challenge the decision of the AMCU, since “the committee did not fully examine all the materials provided by the enterprise.”
According to Kievkhleb, there is enough evidence in the case indicating the absence of violations of competition law. We are talking about a study by a forensic expert and an independent survey conducted by a specialized marketing company.
“The main proof is the use of a large image of our own brand “BKK” on the product packaging, which has been well recognized by customers for many years,” says the Kievkhlib website.
According to the report, when making the controversial decision, the AMCU assumed the unusual powers of an examination body to establish the fact of similarity of packages.
The legal service of “Kyivkhleb” intends to legally prove the illegality of the AMCU decision and restore its violated rights and business reputation.
