Alexey Doroshenko, General Director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Due to the increase in the minimum wage, literally in the first three months (of 2017), the price of social grades increased by 12%. This means that by January we will see bread prices rise 50 kopecks higher than we will see at the beginning of the year. in February and March about 50 kopecks will be added. That is, we will see an increase in the price of social varieties by the hryvnia, up to 13 – 13,5 UAH at the end of March. At the same time, in Kyiv, the investment agreement for a large number of Kievkhleb kiosks ends in 2018. this means that social varieties will not be sold at the prices that were fixed in 2014-2015. Accordingly, the price of this bread will also increase significantly. The people of Kiev must be ready for this. The charm of inexpensive bread is ending in the capital,” he said.
