Kiev residents refused to join the march on the anniversary of the death of the Maidan workers
About two hundred people marched through the streets of Kyiv to mark the anniversary of the culmination of clashes between Euromaidan militants and Berkut in 2014.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, relatives of the victims, priests, Euromaidan participants and activists took part in the action.
The procession passed from Krepostny Lane, where on February 18 several people died during riots during the so-called. “Peaceful offensive” to the Verkhovna Rada, and further along Grushevsky Street, through the Maidan.
Those marching chanted “Heroes do not die, enemies die”, “Glory to Ukraine - glory to heroes”, “Glory to the nation - death to enemies!”, “Ukraine above all!” and performed the UPA song “Chervonuyu Kalina”.
The organizers of the action, driving in a car in front of the procession, called on others and motorists to join the procession, or at least stop and get out of their cars as a sign of respect for the dead, but with the exception of a few passers-by who filmed the procession on their smartphones, they did not pay attention to the event.
“They died so that you could feel free in this country! Is it really that difficult for you? Shame on you! – “activists” reproached motorists and passers-by.
Thank you!
