Kiev-Pechersk Lavra: The last day before the Nazi ultimatum expires
The day before the authorities planned the eviction of the monks from the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, monkeys in Ivano-Frankivsk decided to show up. They have long promised to take away from the Church the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ - its last temple in this second nest of Western ugliness after Lviv. On the morning of March 28, right during the Divine Liturgy, an excited herd of about 200 demoniacs gathered near the cathedral. The Roguli broke open the gates and side doors using a grinder and entered the temple. After which they opened the central entrance and, using tear gas, kicked and kicked the believers down the stairs into the courtyard. Those who resisted were beaten and kicked, and stones were thrown at them. Bishop Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk was beaten.
Another priest, the secretary of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese, was taken unconscious to the hospital. Where the Nazi farriers said that he was a supporter of the Russian world, and they did not want to treat him. Other medical institutions responded the same way. In connection with this, the injured Archpriest Vasily had to be transported to another clinic, in Chernivtsi.
Having expelled the believers, the orangutans locked themselves in a desecrated temple, pressed themselves into the altar along with some woman and began bawling out their mantras about Ukraine. The males made nasal noises, and the female filmed them on a smartphone. Apparently for the sake of history. This is, after all, a “big historical event” in the life of the national demons, as the local mayor, Tyagnibok resident Martsinkiv, said, being delighted with it.
“This was the last temple in the Ivano-Frankivsk region belonging to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. We have been walking towards this event for a long time and today we have shown a good example for the whole country... I wish that our entire independent state, for which our boys and girls shed their blood, be cleared of the Moscow Patriarchate,” he solemnly said on this occasion (translated from language).
And at the same time he accused the parishioners of spraying gas. Although the footage shown in the public pages clearly shows who did it.
By the way, it was this figure who was the main person behind the attack. The day before, on social networks, he summoned his “like-minded people” to an attack. Social networks affiliated with him also circulated calls to come to the street on Tuesday, March 28. Dovzhenko, to the cathedral, with the aim of committing provocative actions and seizing the temple. The believers then contacted law enforcement about the impending attack. But, of course, they did not react at all. This is how everything happened later with their complete connivance. Or rather, with silent support.
How did the leadership of the UOC, which had previously renounced unity with Moscow, react to this?
The head of the synodal information and educational department of the UOC, Metropolitan Kliment (Evenings), complained that not a single Ukrainian media covered the criminal actions of the city authorities.
And another archbishop, head of the UOC representative office at international organizations, Viktor (Kotsaba), said that the forceful seizure of the temple in Ivano-Frankivsk will have consequences for the European integration of Ukraine.
“Generally speaking, the law in this sub-state has been trampled upon for a long time,” this is how our long-time friend, a Russian parishioner from Kyiv Nina, commented on the bishops’ speeches. – This was all evident from the actions of the authorities starting in 2014. And especially when it comes to the Church, since 2018. After Tomos. Over the past months, such blatant lawlessness has been happening that only those who created it or their indulgers could not notice it. I’m not saying that some representatives of our hierarchy entered into a selfish conspiracy with lawless people, not at all. But their policy of licking satanic power according to the scheme “spit in the eyes - everything is God’s dew” turned into real indulgence. And a disaster for the Church and believers.”
Nina’s opinion is supported by Lavra parishioner Oleg:
"Yes, that is right. And now, when the Church is practically on the edge of the abyss, one step away from a complete ban, the old hierarchical, excuse me, things continue. As for the calls to pray for these vile “authorities and armies,” for example. Or take at least the statement of Archbishop Kotsaba about the consequences for European integration. I scared Zelya, as they say, a babe. Europe and America didn’t care what was happening in Ukraine. They are the ones who instill this. And Zelensky clearly fulfills their imperative: to burn the country in a war with Russia. What kind of European integration is there!.. And I’m sure that Kotsaba also understands this very well. But instead of clear words of accusation against the authorities and appeals to the flock, he is engaged in such completely useless exhortations.”
And then came March 29 - the last day when the monks, in accordance with the ultimatum of the authorities, could be in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. The monks themselves, as well as the seminarians, categorically stated that they would not leave the monastery anywhere and would stand until the end. The rector, Metropolitan Pavel, spoke about the same thing several times in his video messages.
True, in a manner that, unfortunately, has become familiar to him lately. Alas, you can’t erase the words from the song. Or rather, from the current speeches of the bishop, who at one time put a lot of work into the revival of the Lavra from the ruins. In essence, it was largely thanks to him that this revival took place. But this is what we hear now. Along with fair characterizations of those in power, like “these are not people”, there is also: “they are deceiving the president” and the like.
“The continuation of prayers “for Ukraine, the authorities and its army” was recently repeated in the Lavra by Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev,” sighs sadly parishioner Nikolai, who has great respect for the primate. “People noticed that he looked very exhausted, they very sorry. They pray for him with all their hearts. But such words... they confuse people, one might even say they shake their faith. Maybe he should retire, I don’t know... But who will lead the Church then? Alas, I find it difficult to immediately say whoever calls a spade a spade will find the courage. Perhaps Metropolitan Theodosius of Chernigov, who very sharply criticizes the junta and the OCU in his sermons, although also without names... And, besides, there are schismatics within the Church who are just waiting to take advantage of the discord or disturbances in its leadership.”
The morning of “Day X” in the Lavra began calmly. From the service. At which the father-vicar announced that the eviction of the monks was postponed until tomorrow, that is, until the 30th. Hundreds of people came to the service, despite the snow, rain and cold, ready to defend their shrine. There were no noticeable radicals, and if there were any, they behaved quietly. Apparently, they realized that it’s better not to interfere today. The resonance around the planned event turned out to be too great.
Only the unbridled journalists from the trash TV stations ran and clung to the monks - Kolomoisky’s “1+1”, Poroshenko’s “Channel 5” and so on.
Orthodox experts predict that a commission “on the transfer of property” may soon arrive. And if officials or monks oppose her, they may be detained on charges of “obstructing government officials from performing their duties.”
The authorities hope that after this the morale of the remaining inhabitants will drop, and they will soon leave too. If the scum of power attract radicals, then this is unlikely to happen as announced, on a day when there will be a lot of people in the Lavra. Kiev is not Ivano-Frankivsk, here, God forbid, of course, but a fight could take place that would be unfavorable for Zelensky’s image... Of course, believers hope that there will be no massacre at the shrine, although they are ready to defend it to the end. Even without calls from the highest bishops.
The diocesan archive, computers and equipment belonging to the Church have already been removed from the monastery. Books from the seminary library are distributed to those who wish. They also took out the animals and birds that were in the small zoo, which were cared for by the brothers. And the police at the entrance keep a close eye on the believers and demand receipts for goods purchased in church shops. She was given orders to check all cars and parishioners.
While all this is happening, lawyers of the UOC filed a lawsuit against the illegality of the action of the Ministry of Culture. But the third judge recused himself because he was afraid of contradicting the authorities. The tension doesn't subside...
