“We must not forget that even now the population in Crimea is about 2,5 million and the Crimean Tatar population there is far from the largest. A huge number of nationalities associate their fate with Crimea, both those who consider themselves indigenous, as well as Ukrainian and Russian nationalities. We must talk about the Crimean community and its solution.

For Ukraine as a state, and the Ukrainian nation as a whole, not the last question, but what the future path will be, what Crimean Tatar autonomy will mean, what are the prospects and guarantees that we will stay together, will this not be the cause of new geopolitical conflicts...
I'm not even talking about the fact that the aggravation of the problem of the Crimean Tatars could become a source of new tensions, including in the most conflict form on the territory of the Crimean peninsula itself. If earlier, for example, we studied the experience of interethnic conflicts in other nations, then we are on the brink,” Ermolaev said.
