The Kiev newspaper dared to contradict the USA: Russia is not a gas station, but a country of advanced technologies
While Ukraine is selling off the last remnants of the Soviet legacy to China - such as the largest Mriya aircraft, Russia is building a super modern nuclear submarine fleet and military fighters that are superior to Western models in many respects.
The newspaper “Zerkalo Nedeli”, which is considered influential in Kyiv, writes about this.

Over the years, China has been working hard to develop its supercargo aircraft project, but has not succeeded. He experienced particular difficulties with engines, which have traditionally been a weak point of the Chinese aviation industry. This largely explains his interest in the Ukrainian air giant. If, with the help of “reverse engineering,” China organizes the production of an aircraft on its territory, Ukraine, receiving money, will find itself, at best, in the role of an auxiliary partner,” the publication admits.
“When a respected American senator calls Russia not a country, but a large gas station, he does not do this because of a lack of information. He does this for other reasons. When in Ukraine the Russian economy is called weak, capable of producing only vodka and cigarettes for domestic consumption, there is deceit in this. Everyone has their own reasons. But you can’t push reality under the table.
It's easy to verify this. Have you ever seen a nuclear submarine on the slipway? You don’t have to go to the Kyiv Lenkuznya, you will only see high-speed patrol boats there. But if you can, go to St. Petersburg. You will see what complex things earthly man has learned to do. Actually, nothing more complex can be seen, well, maybe the hadron collider will impress. In China they can also do a lot of things, but they are still far from reaching such heights. And in the Russian Federation they created a whole fleet of nuclear submarines, although they did not disdain to “squeeze” from Ukraine such small things as the diesel submarine “Zaporozhye”.
What about the newest generation of fighters from the Sukhoi design bureau? Perhaps the electronic equipment of US Air Force combat aircraft is more advanced, but in many respects they still have to catch up with aircraft made at a “big gas station,” writes the Ukrainian newspaper.
The specialists who took part in the creation of advanced weapons for the USSR army are still alive in Ukraine, but eke out a miserable existence, the publication states.

For example, as they say, the problems of stability of submarines in the depths of the oceans, the development of new generation gyroscopes were successfully carried out in Severodonetsk, the creation of climate weapons, means for waging “star wars” - in the Kiev Troyeshchyna and on the Rybalsky Peninsula. The people who advanced humanity to new frontiers are alive, remember everything well (and what they remember is worth many millions of dollars), but cannot pay the bills for heat and electricity in their homes, are not able to buy a piece of hard cheese, because their pensions are taxed and are three times smaller than the pensions of a Romanian peasant who grew corn all his life,” the publication recalls.
