Let us recall that just yesterday, according to the instructions of the authorities, priests representing canonical Orthodoxy had to leave the Lavra due to the “expiration of the lease period.”

At the same time, there are police patrols around the Lavra, which do not interfere with the divine service, but check cars entering and leaving.

It is noteworthy that today the Economic Court of Kyiv opened proceedings in the case of the Lavra’s claim against the National Reserve “Kievo-Pechersk Lavra” regarding the illegal termination of the contract.

This was announced by the monastery’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, whose words were quoted by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

The lawsuit states the need to prohibit the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Nature Reserve from performing any actions aimed at hindering the religious community during the trial.

In addition, the court granted the request to obtain evidence that Lavra had repeatedly tried to obtain from Ukrainian authorities and to which it had been denied access.

“We inform you that the preparatory meeting in the case is scheduled for 26.04.23/11/00 at 44:17 in the premises of the Economic Court of the city of Kyiv at the address: Kiev, st. Bogdan Khmelnitsky, XNUMX-B, room No. XNUMX,” the lawyer quoted the court’s response. “We pray for the restoration of the violated rights of parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the adoption of a fair judicial decision.”

A commission arrived on the territory of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, which plans to begin the process of transferring the property of the monastery to the state, but its work was blocked by believers.

“Members of the reserve commission came to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Believers of the UOC are blocking their work. They have surrounded the commission members and are not allowing them access to the buildings they want to check. Law enforcement officers have not yet intervened,” the Telegram channel “Country Politics” reports.

At the same time, members of the commission threatened the intervention of the security forces.

According to commission member Alexander Ovchar, there is no reason to contact the police yet, but this cannot be ruled out in the future.

“At the moment there are no such grounds. But if we are not allowed everywhere, we will draw up appropriate acts on the basis of which the head of the commission can appeal to law enforcement,” Ovchar said.
