The Kiev press presents the destruction of the cruiser "Ukraine" as a wise step by Poroshenko
The newspaper “KP in Ukraine” (renamed “Komsomolskaya Pravda” as part of decommunization) justifies Petro Poroshenko’s decree on sending for scrap the unfinished cruiser “Ukraine” - an analogue of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet “Moscow”.

“It seems that few people will regret about the Ukraina... The country will have one less headache,” the newspaper instructs readers, assuring that the ship was outdated.
Rear Admiral Nikolai Zhibarev told the publication: “What cannot be sold must be removed and stored in a warehouse. The material that will be needed - engines, turbines, generators - will be donated to the needs of the Ukrainian Navy. And everything else should be sold as scrap metal,” explains the Ukrainian naval commander.
“The money from the sale, if it remains after paying off the debts, makes sense to spend on the purchase of boats and ships,” the admiral makes plans.
