Kiev propaganda proposes to scare Donbass with fantastic horrors about “vatniks”
Separatist sentiments in the Donbass and southern Ukraine can be combated by repeated demonstrations on TV of propaganda films about how bad life is in the territories not controlled by Kyiv.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Anna Gopko stated this on Channel 5 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is very important now to work with Ukrainian society. I would now show more films on TV channels about the bottom of the Russian world in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. For example, the film by Loznitsa (Ukrainian film director of Belarusian origin living in Germany - ed.) “Donbass”.
In order for... some of us have people who for some reason have separatist sentiments in especially vulnerable areas of the South, so that they do not have illusions about Putin - these are such separatist environments,” says Gopko.
Note that even in Ukraine, Loznitsa’s film “Donbass” was criticized for caricature of images militias in Donbass and excessive propaganda bias. Nevertheless, the director was awarded the Dovzhenko Prize. It is noteworthy that the film shows only life in uncontrolled territories - “the Ukrainian side of the conflict is completely absent from the film».
