Kyiv lawyers will rally against the repression of the Prosecutor General's Office
The Kyiv Regional Bar Council announced its intention to hold a rally in protest against the violation of the rights of its colleagues in the trial of the shootings on the Maidan. We would like to remind you that by decision of Judge Shaputko, who presided over this trial, lawyers Olga Prosyanyuk and Alexander Goroshinsky were forcibly removed from the courtroom.

An application to hold a rally on February 14 was submitted to the Kyiv City State Administration, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
Currently, several cases of executions on the Maidan are pending in the courts of Kyiv. The Prosecutor General's Office insists on their consideration in absentia. In order to push through this decision in the case against former President Viktor Yanukovych, the hearing in the Pechersk District Court was specially scheduled for the same time when the hearing on the case of Yanukovych’s treason was going on in the Obolon District Court, and the lawyers were there.
The judge refused to postpone the hearing and appointed a free lawyer who was ready to agree to the prosecutor’s demands for a hearing in absentia. When this became known, authorities were urgently issued to Prosyanyuk and Goroshinssky. The latter defends former Berkut fighters in a similar case of executions.
“The hearing begins, I announce the challenge of the free worker. They refuse me and (know-how) do not allow me to participate in the process. I refer to the Code of Criminal Procedure that this is not legal. They reprimand me and call for an escort to remove me from the meeting room. I call 102, tell the judge that she has made a deliberately unjust decision, and they simply begin to squeeze me out, they simply drag me out by force. As a result, the besplatnik, prosecutors and judge listened to 2 in 100 hours! volumes and more than 20 hours of video,” wrote Olga Prosyanyuk on the social network.
Viktor Yanukovych himself commented on the situation, publishing an appeal to Ukrainians.
“Such actions are a panicky reaction of the current government to the fact that every day in Ukraine and the world more and more facts are being learned about the involvement of its representatives in the most serious crimes,” Yanukovych wrote.
