This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Enterprises in the Field of Hazardous Waste Management Kirill Kosourov on the Facebook page of the public organization “EcoUkraineTeam”.
“Continuation of the story with dangerous finds at CHPP 6: “Kievkommunservice” sent an equipped specialist to the point where the lamps were found, who collected dangerous finds. But, unfortunately, this is only the tip of the garbage iceberg. In fact, this is the Troeshchina hazardous waste landfill. We delved into the heart of the wasteland, which is located in the middle of a triangle bounded by Diamond Lake (aka Lesnoe), st. Pukhivskaya and the territory of CHPP 6. The findings were unpleasantly surprising: this territory has been used for illegal garbage dumping for about 20 years. And this is not household waste at all. The lion’s share is construction and industrial waste, a lot of fruits and vegetables (there is a large wholesale vegetable market nearby),” writes the volunteer.
According to him, all this dirt is dumped on the ground and burned, and the combustion products poison the nearby microdistricts of Troyeshchyna.
At the same time, according to the ecologist, this is not a spontaneous landfill, since it is organized on communal land.
“Locals complain of cough, dry mouth, and eye irritation. As locals told us, sometimes there is a queue of 10-15 trucks to unload. This is not a spontaneous dump. There is a tractor working there that sweeps garbage around the area,” he noted.
The volunteer also said that the police and environmental inspectors were called to the place of the “find”. In addition, the Kyiv City State Administration was informed about the discovery of an illegal dump on municipal land.
