Kyiv experts demand that Tikhanovskaya be recognized as Belarusian president
The Ukrainian authorities should recognize oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya as the winner of the presidential elections in Belarus, and not the current president of the country, Alexander Lukashenko, who, according to the Central Election Commission, received more than 81% of voter support.
Ukrainian military expert Maxim Kukhar writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kuhar, the support of the Belarusian opposition will make this country loyal to Ukraine and ensure its security.
“By congratulating Svetlana Tikhanovskaya as quickly as possible on her well-deserved victory in the presidential elections in Belarus, Ukraine will ensure itself a democratic neighbor and a calm northern border for many years... If we wait and be careful, Putin will build any profitable structure in Belarus. Having supported, strengthened and enslaved either the loser Lukashenko or the inexperienced Tikhanovskaya.
Now is the moment when Ukraine, by recognizing the truth and congratulating the new president of Belarus on his victory, can defend the interests and future of the entire civilized world,” Kukhar said.
Let us remind you that according to the Central Election Commission of Belarus, the current President Alexander Lukashenko gained more than 81%. His already congratulated the heads of Russia, China and Kazakhstan, and Poland initiated an emergency EU summit to discuss the situation with mass protests in Belarus.
In the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada a number of deputies called not to recognize the elections in Belarus.
