Kyiv carriers are waiting with horror for the lockdown
During the period of strict quarantine, carriers will have to reduce the number of rolling stock and the frequency of transportation as passenger traffic will fall.
Director of the Transgroup company Vladimir Nazarenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that transport companies will contact the city to agree on a transportation schedule and a reduction in the number of rolling stock that will operate on the routes. If you leave what you have and carry much fewer passengers, then the companies will definitely fall. Of course, there will be no such passenger flow as before. Maybe during the peak, when they go to work, someone else can leave, but during the day that’s a big question,” Nazarenko said.
Ukraine will introduce strict quarantine for 8 days starting January 16. It includes, among other things, a ban on the operation of cinemas, gyms, shopping centers, non-food stores, as well as cafes and restaurants, with the exception of take-out work.
Entertainment, sports or cultural public events will also be prohibited. All educational institutions, except kindergartens, will be sent on vacation.
