Kyiv opponents of Shukhevych Avenue achieved an intermediate victory in court
The Kiev District Administrative Court refused to cancel the Svoboda party's measures to secure the claim in the case of renaming the avenue named after General Nikolai Vatutin in honor of the UPA commander Roman Shukhevych, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Human rights activist Elena Berezhnaya reported this on her social network page.
“This means that despite the decision made by the City Council, the avenue continues to bear the name of the True Hero - Vatutin!” says Berezhnaya.
Let us note that the lawsuit against the Kyiv City Council was filed by the Jewish Human Rights Group and the Anti-Fascist Human Rights League.
As measures to secure the claim, the plaintiffs demanded to suspend the entry into force of the decision on renaming until the end of the consideration of the claim in court on the merits.
