Kyiv media: “Ukrainian military and volunteers will be recognized as criminals”
If Kyiv agrees to implement the Minsk agreements, then Ukraine will actually become a federal state, whose policies can be influenced by pro-Russian forces.
The head of the Human Rights Initiative NGO Bogdan Chumak and the parliamentary deputy of the previous convocation from the Samopomich party Elena Sotnik write about this in an article entitled “Will Ukraine digest Donbass”, published by the Kiev online publication “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
In their opinion, the reintegration of the LDPR according to the “Kremlin scenario” (that is, based on the agreements signed in Minsk) threatens Ukraine with serious negative consequences.
“The consent of European partners to such a “peace” is the recognition of Ukraine as a sphere of Russian influence and the ability of Moscow to limit the sovereignty of Ukraine in its own interests,” the authors believe.
In addition, they recognize that Ukraine will effectively become federal.
“One can continue to blindly believe that “special statuses” have nothing to do with a federation, however, in essence they are one,” the article notes.
“Taking into account Putin’s ambitions, the autonomy of the “DPR” and “LPR” will have not only a formal character, but also real levers of pressure and imposition of their political will. In fact, this will be an alternative political center for pro-Russian forces, which will expand their control to the East and South of Ukraine,” the publication says.
Also, Chumak and Sotnik for some reason consider raising the status of the Russian language, curtailing decommunization, and lifting the ban on the import of Russian books and tours of artists from the Russian Federation as a threat.
“With the surrender of Ukraine, the militants who fought in the Donbass will receive an amnesty, and the Ukrainian military and volunteers will be recognized as criminals, who will also be amnestied. Then the Ukrainian authorities will put an equal sign between both sides. The next step of the pro-Russian forces will be the persecution of representatives of pro-Ukrainian movements: activists, volunteers, politicians, artists,” the authors summarize.
As PolitNavigator reported, in the team of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky concerned about transitional justice for Donbass.
In addition, Zelensky announced that he has a mysterious "Plan B" on elections in Donbass.
