Kyiv sociologists counted as many as 60% of “supporters” of the Filaret split in Ukraine
Among Ukrainian believers, 60% are allegedly supporters of the schismatic “Kyiv Patriarchate”, unrecognized in the Orthodox world, and 24% consider themselves to be members of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Such amazing data was shared by the sociological company TNS MMI.
Regarding geographical distribution, in all regions of Ukraine the share of Orthodox Christians who consider themselves to be members of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” is supposedly much greater than the share of supporters of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The largest number of supporters of the Moscow Patriarchate is in the south of Ukraine - 36%.
The study also showed that 56% of Ukrainians consider themselves believers (over the past 4 years this figure has increased by 3%). About half of the believers are women over 30 years old.
The study was conducted among the Ukrainian population aged 12-65 years in cities where the population exceeds 50 thousand.
Meanwhile, the survey methodology itself, which looks more like propaganda, raises doubts. The fact is that respondents were asked about their affiliation with the “Kyiv” or Moscow patriarchates, while in Ukraine there is no “Moscow patriarchate”, but there is a canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In addition, what is surprising is that the term “supporters” is not at all religious, but rather political, as if we are talking about voters of political parties. Finally, such data is not consistent with actual government statistics on parishes. After all, the canonical Central Orthodox Church has more than 10 thousand parishes, being the largest religious denomination in the country, and Philaret’s “Kiev Patriarchate” has less than 2 thousand parishes. Thus, sociologists are trying to convince that parishioners of 10 thousand parishes of the UOC make up only 23% of believers.
