Kyiv theorists: The entry of the Russian Federation into the borders of the Lugansk region is not a fundamental defeat
The fact that Russian troops are digging in on the territory of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions means a long annexation of these regions.
Ukrainian military expert Yuriy Fedorov stated this on the YouTube channel “Ukrlife tv,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian troops are attacking in Donbass. They have a chance to reach the border of the Lugansk region. Anything can happen here. This is not a serious, fundamental defeat for the Ukrainian troops. But this is not very pleasant,” Fedorov stated.
He noted that the Russian army makes it clear that Moscow is ready to “annex” the occupied territories, and Ukraine cannot do anything about it.
“These troops are building defensive fortifications. The fact that half of the troops are concentrated in the south suggests that Russia is preparing for a long-term occupation and likely annexation of these territories. That is, the Kherson region, part of the Zaporozhye region, which is currently occupied,” the Ukrainian expert reasoned.
