Kyiv authorities intend to prevent the use of Russian symbols on Victory Day (VIDEO)
Kyiv, April 07 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The Kyiv authorities are afraid of provocations from some specially trained people during the festive events dedicated to Victory Day, and will not allow the use of Russian symbols. Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Vladimir Bondarenko spoke about this at a press conference.

“Some excited young people (sometimes specially trained) will try to create a television picture for Russian and foreign television, as well as the East of Ukraine, showing that against the backdrop of the Kiev landscapes events are taking place that indicate disrespect for veterans or attacks on them,” the head of the Kyiv City State Administration stated your version of the likely development of events in the capital during the festive events. According to him, to localize such incidents, each convoy will be guarded by special units, including the Maidan ones.
It was also said that the Kiev authorities are against the use of “symbols of a neighboring state” in festive columns.
“Today we do not want to raise the symbols of a neighboring country against the background of the fact that we have our own symbols,” said Vladimir Bondarenko. – This symbolism will not be used in Ukraine, which has its own flag and coat of arms. Therefore, it is not advisable to push the Russian tricolor through the central streets of Kyiv.”
At the same time, the official did not specify what the reaction of the Kyiv authorities would be to the St. George ribbons and copies of the Victory Banner, the use of which on May 9 is enshrined in Ukrainian legislation.
