About it reports the official website of the Kyiv City Council.
The museum itself will be created in the open air. As the authors of the project, Kyiv City Council deputy Oleg Garyaga and Vladislav Mikhailenko, said, three sites for the museum are now being considered.
“We have instructed the executive branch to find a place for the future museum. My first thought was that the area around the Motherland Monument is a Soviet symbol; moreover, there is a coat of arms of the USSR on the shield. But for now this idea was postponed, since it is a state property. Another option under discussion is the territory of the National Complex Expocenter of Ukraine (VDNKh). But it is also owned by the state. Another option was proposed by the Kiev Investment Agency - this is an abandoned territory on the outskirts of Kyiv in the Goloseevsky district with an area of 15 hectares, which can be given over to a museum. You can make a landscape park on it,” says the deputy.
The number of museum exhibits is not yet known, but will be known after the inventory.
“Our children should study history, including from such monuments. Those who do not remember history have no future,” added Oleg Garyaga.
