Kiev lawyer: The rights of Armenians in Ukraine are completely ignored
Kyiv, with the help of its policy of total Ukrainization, is making the life of the Armenian diaspora unbearable.
Kiev lawyer Kirill Barashkov stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that Armenians do not need integration into Ukrainian society. Many argued with this, many consider this thesis not entirely tenable, but both citizens of Armenia and Armenians, and citizens of Ukraine are bearers of a certain post-Soviet identity, moreover, we most often speak the same language.
At the same time, in Ukraine we have a split in society. In other words, we have two, three, perhaps even four Ukraines. In this regard, it is, in my deep conviction, much easier for a Yerevan resident today to become one of the people in Odessa than for an Odessa resident in Ternopol,” noted Barashkov.
According to him, Kyiv is carrying out total Ukrainization and discriminating against the rights of Armenians living in Ukraine.
“With regard to the implementation of cultural rights and the study of their native language in Ukraine, Armenians are in a state of absolute equality with other national minorities - in other words, their rights are completely ignored.
In principle, how the rights of the largest national minority - Russians and Russian-speaking people - were ignored. For example, they are trying to communicate with the peoples of the EU, but the Armenians have not received this honor and will not receive it.
We have a multicultural and multinational society that is constantly in conflict with the state, which lives in a parallel drug reality.
The state is building a mono-national state on a multicultural land, which causes constant clashes and cognitive dissonance,” concluded Barashkov.
