A Kiev analyst suggested how the West can deny Ukraine membership in NATO and save face
To put an end to Ukraine’s prospects of becoming a NATO member, the West does not have to declare this publicly - it is enough to force Kyiv to comply with the Minsk agreements, which is actually what is happening now.
Political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the Internet channel “Capital”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
According to Dzhangirov, current Western leaders directly say that the issue of implementing agreements is Kyiv’s homework.
“It is assumed that the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as they are written, actually prevents Ukraine from joining NATO. There may be different motives, but in fact Ukraine, including the territories under the political control of Russia, and which, if the “Minsk agreements” are implemented as they are written, they remain under the political, and therefore military control of Russia, then, Of course, Ukraine’s entry into NATO is impossible,” the expert said.
“All Western leaders spoke in favor of implementing the Minsk Agreements when addressing Kiev, and Blinken, if I’m not mistaken, even had the expression “homework for Kyiv” on the Minsk Agreements. You know what I have to say – under Trump and Merkel, this kind of crap didn’t happen,” Dzhangirov said.
