Kiev analyst: The West is paving the way for us to surrender
Ukraine's transition to defense could become a freeze in the conflict and a harbinger of its capitulation.
Ukrainian military expert Mikhail Samus stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Samus, next year Western partners may force Ukraine to negotiate with Russia, agreeing to its demands.
“The question arises: is it time for us to go on the defensive or still try to change the situation? Because if we enter 25 in the same positions as now, then 25 may be the year when they simply tell us: “Guys, we need to sign.” To put it mildly, they will not call it capitulation, but it can still be called some kind of peace treaty with Russia. But a peace treaty still means capitulation for Ukraine,” the expert said.
“In the conditions in which we find ourselves, this is capitulation, because Russia will demand a lot of things from us. The first is, of course, the preservation of the occupied territories, no, NATO, no, the European Union and, of course, the lifting of sanctions from Russia. Where it leads? Well, I won’t say that it will lead to catastrophic results, but to tragic results for Ukraine, and for Europe, and for the United States,” Samus said.
