A Kiev official sets aside one to three years for the “reintegration of Donbass” – in the “Croatian” scenario.”
The Ukrainian government is considering three options for returning the territories of the DPR and LPR to its control.
They were voiced by Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Yuriy Grymchak, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Grymchak, there are four options for resolving the Donbass conflict: surrender, military and the “Croatian scenario.” None of the above options, according to him, are being seriously considered by the Ukrainian government. However, Grymchak did not rule out the high probability of a “Croatian scenario”.
“This is an option when the Serbian army remained in the barracks. Over the course of three 3 days, the Croatian destroyed the Serbian region,” Grymchak explained.
Kyiv's main bet is the deployment of UN peacekeepers.
“The main option, which Ukraine advocates and which is supported by our allies, is a peacekeeping mission. Approximately 20-25 thousand military personnel enter the territory, by that time Russia withdraws its troops and its mercenaries, the peacekeeping mission disarms the militants, a temporary international administration is created, which establishes life in this territory and for some time we have local events there elections,” the deputy minister explained the Ukrainian position.
For the complete reintegration of Donbass, if peacekeeping forces enter there tomorrow, Grymchak allocates from one to three years.
