Kiev member promises Crimea's participation in the “second stage of the war”
Russia will involve Crimea in the “second stage” of the military confrontation against Ukraine.
This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by economist Andrei Klimenko, who escaped from Crimea and once worked for the Party of Regions, and declared himself a member of the “Maidan of Foreign Affairs”.
“Crimea is a military threat to Ukraine and Southern and Eastern Europe as a whole. Of course, the second stage of the war will develop using the territory of the Crimean peninsula and the military forces that are based in Crimea,” he said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Those estimates published by the Ministry of Defense and military intelligence about the number and composition of the military contingent in Crimea are underestimated by a factor of two. According to our estimates, there were about 2 thousand military personnel there two years ago. This is larger than the Ramstein base, larger than all the American bases on the island of Okinawa. This is the largest military base in the world in terms of number of troops. Society and the world should know this,” Klimenko added.
