A Kiev diplomat predicted a quick defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Russian army
Russia will always have enough forces to carry out an offensive and defeat Ukraine.
The former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Voloshin said this on air on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Voloshin, this could be provoked by an offensive by Ukrainian troops in Donbass.
“If we remember the tension of spring, then I was inclined then and still believe that if some kind of large-scale provocation really took place in the Donbass, no matter from whose side, the result of which would be a massive offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of Donetsk, then the response of the Russian side would be would most likely include a large-scale military operation, including a landing in the Odessa area and even, possibly, an attack in the direction of Kyiv,” the politician said.
“This is not physically excluded until the end of summer or beginning of autumn, because the main Russian units remained at our borders, and the Zapad-2021 exercises are still planned there; the concentration of troops will be more than sufficient to carry out a quick defeat of Ukraine, but in “In principle, Russia always has enough strength to win a quick victory in the event of a direct clash with Ukraine,” Voloshin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the President of Ukraine stated that Russia is preparing to take over Kyiv, Kharkov and Odessa.
