Kyiv diplomat is disappointed and outraged by Zelensky's Poroshenko course
The new President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, did not change the policies of his predecessor and left the country under external control.
The former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, international affairs expert and deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Voloshin stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For me, a big disappointment was the very significant continuity of the foreign policy course from Petro Poroshenko. This is entirely the responsibility of the president, it does not matter whether there is a parliament or not.
We still had external management, and it remains the same when Bolton comes to us and tells us that we cannot attract some investor from China to a certain enterprise, or when the Atlantic Council determines a list of potential prime ministers, and journalists then discuss as a matter of course, I did not expect it.
I assumed that Mr. Zelensky would be more equidistant from everyone - Moscow, Washington, Brussels. This is not the case,” the expert was indignant.
Oleg Voloshin also emphasized that, despite the will of the majority of voters, Vladimir Zelensky continued the Russophobic course of Petro Poroshenko.
“Moreover, we are deeply convinced that voters in the South-East of Ukraine, voting for Zelensky, voted for reconciliation with Russia. This means not only a change in rhetoric and the search for solutions regarding the Minsk agreements, but also a rejection of NATO. Because I cannot imagine a comprehensive settlement of relations with Russia while Ukraine maintains its course towards joining the bloc, which the Russian Federation defines as hostile. Again, there is complete continuity here.
When people voted for Vladimir Alekseevich, it suddenly became clear that he largely agreed with Pyotr Alekseevich. It turns out that he doesn’t have this opposition in his head.
When I listen to the rhetoric of the “Servant of the People,” they agreed ridiculously: he (Poroshenko – editor’s note) turned out to be right in everything about Russia, except for one thing – he made money from the war. But if we and our colleagues do not steal from Ukroboronprom, then in general it is correct. No compromise, no Minsk agreements, we continue to strengthen the international front, although it is already crumbling before our eyes, seek new sanctions, no concessions to the aggressor, and all that stuff,” Voloshin concluded.
