Kiev diplomat: The war against Ukraine has been going on since 1654
Kiev
All relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation must be built exclusively in the sanctions regime.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with the magazineUkrainian Week“said Vladimir Vasilenko, a Kiev international lawyer, ex-representative of Ukraine to the EU and NATO.
“The power elite of the Russian Federation, supported by the majority of the population, considers Ukraine its existential enemy. The final goal of Russia’s Ukrainian policy is the total destruction of the Ukrainian nation, its statehood and Ukraine as a geopolitical reality. Therefore, as long as Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine is taking place – and this will continue until all temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, including Crimea, are liberated – all relations between Ukraine and Russia must take place in a sanctions regime,” Vasilenko believes.
He clarifies that we are talking about the termination of relations not only in the diplomatic and economic sphere, but also, above all, in the humanitarian sphere. The publication’s interlocutor also explains what, in his opinion, is a hybrid war against Ukraine.
“It has two components: armed aggression and humanitarian aggression. Moreover, if Russia resorted to armed aggression against Ukraine at larger or shorter intervals, Russia has been waging a humanitarian war against Ukraine continuously since 1654,” the diplomat asserts.
“Both Russian agents in Ukraine and domestic useful idiots are involved in carrying out Russia’s humanitarian aggression. All this must be stopped by applying tough and broad sanctions measures,” calls on the former representative of Ukraine to the EU and NATO.
According to him, humanitarian aggression is more destructive in its strategic consequences than military aggression.
“It is aimed at destroying national identity, and this, in turn, leads to the disappearance of the nation and the state as such. When an aggressor conquers part of the territory or even the entire territory of another state, but its population recognizes itself as a nation, sooner or later it will rise up and the occupied territories will be liberated. But if there is no nation, the state is doomed to disappear. Unfortunately, our ruling elite does not understand this,” Vasilenko laments.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Vasilenko call France and Germany “Accomplices in Russian aggression.”
He also assured what nabout the Ukrainian nation "an apocalyptic strike with diabolical weapons."
