Kiev associate professor: “Victories make Russia wild and backward”
The Kremlin considers Ukraine its province, which needs to be returned to a single state.
The correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports this in the magazine “Ukrainian Week”, which is considered one of the most rabid mouthpieces of anti-Russian propaganda in Kyiv, writes Associate Professor of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” Igor Losev.
“The tragedy is that the current leaders of the Russian Federation perceive Ukraine as an exclusively rebellious Russian province that must be conquered and returned to the imperial stable at any cost. It is extremely difficult for these figures to believe that Ukraine is a truly sovereign, independent state, having the right to independence, conciliarity and international subjectivity no less than Russia,” the author believes.
According to him, only “decisive resistance from Ukraine to all imperial encroachments” can convince the Kremlin and the Russians otherwise.
“Attempts to ask for something (gas, peace, understanding) will only strengthen the Russians in their mistakes and fantasies, making them “reinforced concrete.” Real understanding came to the Russians only after the shameful failure of military adventures. In this sense, it was precisely the defeats that made Russia a more or less civilized and peace-loving state. Victories played bad jokes with the Russian Federation, preserving the wild, backward and archaic for many years,” claims Losev.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Losev predicted that in winter Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky in Moscow, give gas and accept surrender.
