Kiev economist and former minister recognized Russia's diplomatic victory
In the dialogue with the United States, Russia has already won diplomatically, if only by forcing the United States to sit down and consider its security demands.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Suslov, the most influential American media recognize the diplomatic defeat of the United States.
“We must understand that we are talking about a certain scheme for constructing negotiations. Take today the New York Times, the famous American newspaper, one of the most influential. They published an article there, where the headline included the phrase that there seemed to be no real results of the negotiations, but Russia won diplomatically.”
“Please note how pleased [Deputy Russian Foreign Minister] Ryabkov was yesterday. There are no results, but in a deeply professional manner, instead of some reproaches from the Americans, he actually gave out a large package of praise. Why do even the Americans themselves in this article believe that Russian diplomacy has been successful? Yes, because Putin forced the Americans to discuss the issue of Russian security. They strived for this. They don’t need to agree on anything specific now, but they have put forward a specific plan, every point is being discussed, but the Americans don’t have a plan,” Suslov said.
