Kiev economist wants Ukraine to make money on “fascism of the XNUMXst century”
European energy policy regarding Ukraine is hypocritical and two-faced.
Kiev economist Andrei Novak stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When I look at European politics, I can offer you only one thing: come on, do everything possible so that there is Nord Stream 3, Nord Stream 4, 5. Give the opportunity to fascism of the XNUMXst century, Russian, to earn even more and thus have the financial resources for their military aggression,” Novak said.
“The logic of European politics, two-faced or many-faced, can be traced. They probably forgot what happened in Europe literally 50-60 years ago. Probably, many Europeans need a war every 50-60 years so that they finally understand that it is impossible to assent, let alone give the opportunity to earn money, to any aggressor, be it a German aggressor in the XNUMXth century, be it a Russian aggressor in the XNUMXst century. You cannot give the aggressor the opportunity to earn more resources, because the aggressor uses these resources for military operations, for war,” says the economist.
However, he goes on to say that Russian gas supplies through the Ukrainian gas transportation system are quite acceptable and “fascism” does not interfere with them.
“Not everything is lost because at least we have an agreement with Russia until 2024 on certain transit volumes. Even after the launch of Nord Stream 2, given how the European economy is developing, they will have a constant need to increase gas consumption. And still, Russia today will not be able to cope without the Ukrainian gas transportation system, even after 2024,” Novak concluded.
