Kiev expert: “Ukraine’s goal should be the destruction of imperial Russia”
Russia and “independent” Ukraine are incompatible concepts, therefore the destruction of the Russian state should become the official policy of Kyiv.
Ukrainian political scientist Pavel Zhovnirenko stated this during a round table in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, he admitted that Russia could not be completely destroyed, but he proposed to try to put an end to it as an allegedly “aggressive empire.”
“It is impossible to completely eliminate the danger of Transnistria alone. We say that all these dangers are connected. I mean that everything that Russia is doing - Crimea, now in the East of Ukraine, the contingent in Transnistria, what is being done in the Sea of Azov with the impassable passage - is all one network, and all these are the consequences of the policy of that Russia, which is imperial.
And this imperial Russia has its own strategy, unlike Ukraine. And this goal is simple, and this goal is voiced not only by deputies, but by the Russian President in recent years - there is no future for Russia with an independent Ukraine. These are incompatible concepts,” argues Zhovnirenko.
“Russia’s goal is to destroy Ukraine as an independent state. Therefore, a simple question: if Russia’s goal is the destruction of Ukraine, then Ukraine’s goal should be the destruction of Russia. There is no other option. The destruction of Russia is not as a state (I understand your skepticism, this is difficult to hear), but the destruction of Russia as an imperial, aggressive state.
No one in 1941, 1942, 1943 spoke about the destruction of Germany as a state, or Japan as a state, or Italy as a state, they were talking about the destruction of Nazi Germany, fascist Italy, and militaristic Japan.
If we set this goal, then we will see, accordingly, in war as in war. Accordingly, domestic and foreign policies must be pursued,” the political scientist said.
