According to him. Ukraine “has taken on obligations to socialize five thousand Afghan refugees on our territory,” which can be regarded as a manifestation of humanistic values.

“But next to us is Europe as a bearer, as a creator, which has nurtured these human values throughout its history, by their philosophers since the times of Ancient Greece. They show a different practice - Lithuania is building a wall, Germany is paying the Turks to prevent refugees from entering its territory, forced evictions,” Atamanyuk said.

At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that countries with an incomparably better standard of living are resisting the arrival of Afghan refugees.

“Every country cares, first of all, about its people. Tell me, are we already such a respectable rich state with European standards, with a budget surplus, with all social issues resolved? Let me remind you that we officially have 2,5 million people forcibly displaced from the territory of Donbass who have refugee status, and today these people are not protected in any way and do not have any preferences,” the expert recalled.

“It turns out that we, having 10 million people living below the subsistence level, having, according to the UN, 10 million people who are simply starving, having 2,5 million refugees, having 500 thousand unemployment, having a budget deficit, and every eighth hryvnia in our country it goes to service the external debt. Having a picture like this, we get hooked on this situation. As a person who lives here with his children, this really worries me,” the economist expressed his concerns.

He added that there is another, no less frightening side to the entire situation.

“There is another component - who are these people and why are they running away? After all, these are the people who collaborated with the previous administration of Afghanistan, which fled. That is, in opposition to the Taliban. How did you collaborate? Who is like - who was the translator, who conducted military operations, that is, an analogue of our volunteer battalions.

That is, many of them are people who yesterday ran through the mountains with machine guns, they know how to kill, they know what blood is, they know what the worst thing that people encounter is. And now these people will come to us,” Atamanyuk concluded.

Let us recall that earlier information appeared that Ukraine plans to create experimental division from Afghan refugees with experience in combat and sabotage skills.
