A Kiev expert explained to Ukrainians why they have no chance against the Russian mentality
Even if Vladimir Putin is not president, the policies of the Russian Federation will not undergo significant changes.

This opinion is expressed in his blog by Ukrainian political and economic expert Andrey Golovachev.
“Those who want to better understand the peculiarities of the national mentality of Russians should not forget one important fact: Russia is the only country, along with Great Britain, that has not lost its statehood over the past 400 years. This explains a lot, if not everything. And until the second happens, the first will not change. Hopes that everything will change after Putin's death or departure are completely groundless. Putin is not the cause, Putin is the effect,” the expert is convinced.
At the same time, he added that the peculiarities of the national mentality of Ukrainians are explained by the formation in the absence of their own statehood.
“And these mentality features sought to destroy the prospects for their statehood whenever they appeared,” Golovachev emphasized.
