Kiev expert proposed to come to terms with the Russian army at the borders forever
The demands of Kyiv and Western countries on Moscow to withdraw troops from the border will lead nowhere. The Russian military presence in this region, including Belarus, has become permanent.
Director of the Institute of Political Analysis and International Studies Sergei Tolstov stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Military equipment has been brought up, Russia’s military presence in nearby areas has become a permanent factor. They began to transfer it to places where there were no large garrisons at all in 2015.
Again, in the Kursk and Bryansk regions this is due to the unified Military Doctrine of Russia and Belarus, which was recently approved. And there are reinforced units of the 41st Guards Tank Army,” he said.
Sergei Tolstov emphasized that no matter how much Kyiv and Washington demand from Moscow to withdraw troops from the borders, one can only come to terms with this military presence.
“And near Ukraine there is already a permanent military presence. No matter how much the Americans talk about withdrawing troops from Ukraine, there will be about a hundred thousand troops there. They are based there on a relatively permanent basis, taking into account the fact that it is necessary to form permanent garrisons, permanent winter quarters. In Russia this is happening faster than in Ukraine,” the expert concluded.
