Russia may respond to American sanctions with a military strike on territories that are in US interests, including Ukraine.
This was discussed during a press conference on the topic “New US sanctions against the Russian Federation: should we expect a trade war and an escalation of the conflict in Donbass?” Ukrainian political scientist Pavel Rudyakov said, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In what area can Russia respond to America? Here our skin should shiver and our hair should stand up, because Russia and the United States are a balanced force in military-strategic power. Russia showed this in Syria, President Putin showed samples of new weapons. If so, then Russia will have a motive to use its weapons somewhere where it can hurt US interests to such an extent that the Americans will shudder next time, thinking about new sanctions,” the political scientist predicts.
“Accordingly, we find ourselves among several locations where these weapons can be used,” added Pavel Rudyakov.
As PolitNavikator previously reported, Ukrainian diplomat Leonid Kozhara, commenting on the unpredictable US policy with the use of sanctions in all areas, called Ukraine a hostage to the political games of world powers.
