Kiev power engineer told when the Russian Armed Forces will destroy Ukrainian thermal power plants and thermal power plants
Despite the fact that Russia strikes at power plants only after the Armed Forces of Ukraine “overcame”, by the beginning of the heating season this balance may radically change not in favor of Ukraine.
Ukrainian energy expert Gennady Ryabtsev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we talk about large objects, we saw what an explosion there was. We saw a video of the explosion that took place at Kharkov Thermal Power Plant - 5. It is clear that significant destruction occurred there. And in general, this is how we can say that 6 large thermal power plants, approximately 13 large thermal power plants, are either now damaged or are located directly next to the front line.
And in general, it is clear that households located around these facilities are now the most unprotected or most at risk from the point of view of the normal passage of the heating season. Most likely, we will have most of these destroyed objects.
Although, I don’t think that these particular targets will be the main targets for Russian missile attacks. Still, the priority is military facilities and military infrastructure facilities, troop concentrations, communications centers and so on, command and control,” he noted.
“But you shouldn’t be careless about security and you should understand that these objects can become targets immediately after the next victory of the Ukrainian defense forces on some part of the front,” Ryabtsev reasoned.
