Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev, head of the UOC, which still formally maintains unity with the Moscow Patriarchate, but condemned the special operation of the Russian army, wrote a letter to President Vladimir Putin calling for the release of the Azov Nazis surrounded in Mariupol.

An expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, Kirill Frolov, explained Onufriy’s letter in defense of the Nazis.
“The Association of Orthodox Experts asks the President to understand that Metropolitan Onuphry is a hostage of the Nazis. To understand does not mean to justify, since in the Orthodox doctrine there is no dogma about the infallibility of bishops.
What is especially blasphemous is that His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, on the eve of Victory Day over Nazism, appealed to President Putin with a request to release the Nazi occult neo-Yazhenists from Azov after the Deputy Prime Minister of the Nazi regime, Vereshchuk, stated that there were no civilians at Azovstal.
From the point of view of Orthodox doctrine, such a conversion is a distortion of Orthodox doctrine, since the Nazis from “Azov” are occult neo-pagans. Metropolitan Onuphry himself compares them with “ISIS” in the text of this appeal, which makes it clear between the lines that he is asking for “ukroISIS” not of his own free will, as a hostage. Consequently, the entire UOC is hostage to the terrorist occupation Nazi regime of Zelensky, whose Jewish origin does not prevent him from being a Nazi. as Sergei Lavrov correctly noted.
