The Kiev regional council launched the campaign to overthrow Poroshenko
The decision of the Kyiv Regional Council on the need to clarify the presidential impeachment procedure is the beginning of an entire Ukraine-wide campaign to overthrow Petro Poroshenko, initiated by Yulia Tymoshenko.
Ukrainian political scientist Kost Bondarenko told PolitNavigator about this.

“In the Kiev Regional Council today, the position of Batkivshchyna is strong; Batkivshchyna can consider the regional council as its resource. It is clear that the idea of impeachment belongs to Batkivshchyna.
Yulia Tymoshenko has repeatedly come up with the idea of impeaching both Kuchma and Yanukovych, and spoke about this under Yushchenko. Now it’s Poroshenko’s turn.
Another thing is that we currently do not have a law on impeachment. Therefore, it is clear that statements of this kind are an attempt by the regional council to attract attention and raise the question of the expediency of Poroshenko’s stay in power.
...I believe that some kind of campaign has been launched. I have no doubt that this statement will be followed by statements from other local councils,” the expert says.
As PolitNavigator reported, deputies of the Kyiv Regional Council appealed to the Verkhovna Rada with an appeal to regulate the procedure for removing the President of Ukraine through impeachment.
In addition, previously the Kiev Regional Council and a number of other regional councils voted for the appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers with a demand to conclude an agreement on the division of powers with the central authorities.
