“People arrived who, in the form of an ultimatum, demanded that I open the cathedral for Filaret’s bishop, give him the opportunity to serve in the cathedral, and if I wanted, I could serve with him. All this was in the form of an ultimatum... They demanded that we let this man, Filaret’s bishop, into the cathedral,” said Archbishop Evlogy of Sumy and Akhtyrka.
“Then the brawls began in the building of the diocesan administration. I just had a meeting with the Cossacks, and thanks to the Cossacks we were able to overcome this resistance, to bring these people who captured the diocese out of the diocesan administration.
When leaving, these people made threats and said that “the entire Maidan will be here and will throw Molotov cocktails at the diocese” - I quote this verbatim,” the bishop clarified.
