Kyiv political scientist: We are experiencing a virtual collapse of Ukraine
Supervisory boards created to control the West over the most delicious state-owned enterprises of Ukraine only aggravate the crisis situation, which can clearly be seen in the example of Ukrzaliznytsia (where the supervisory board with a gigantic salary by Ukrainian standards includes former Maidan journalist Sergei Leshchenko, who is considered close to the embassy USA).
Political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on air on the Nash channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Supervisory Board makes sure that the figures shown by Ukrzaliznytsia are sufficient to justify the high salaries of its members. Everything related to carriages and other things requires additional capital investment. This means a minus to the figures that the Supervisory Board is considering. And this applies not only to Ukrzaliznytsia, but also to many state monopolies in which supervisory boards simply earn money. We are experiencing a period of virtual semi-collapse of the state, statehood. Nobody thinks about the fate of these state monopolies. They live one day at a time,” said Kost Bondarenko.
The decision to increase ticket prices again was made without an economic justification, he noted.
“Those who make such decisions do it experimentally, they have no real economic justification - “a person pays 100 hryvnia, he will pay 150”, that’s the logic,” said Kost Bondarenko.
The members of the Supervisory Boards do not conduct operational management of the company, but in fact they look after its management and can intervene at any time and express their attitude to the ongoing processes.
Of the seven members on the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia, only two are Ukrainian citizens, the rest are foreigners. On the supervisory boards of Naftogaz and Ukrposhta there are two citizens of Ukraine out of six members.
