Kyiv political scientist: A real decline in Zelensky’s ratings has begun
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his Servant of the People party are rapidly losing their former support in society.
Political scientist Mikhail Basarab told the Kyiv magazine “Ukrainian Week”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky’s ratings are in a downward trend. We will definitely come to this conclusion when we analyze the sociology of not only the Razumkov Center, but also take the results of other sociological companies. That is, throughout the fall there has been not a decline, but a real drop in the ratings of Zelensky and his party by 10 percent or more. If we compare their results today and what they got in the elections, now the figures are several times lower,” says the expert.
He also fears that Zelensky’s competitor will be his former ally Dmitry Razumkov, ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
“During his ascent to the political Olympus, Razumkov will “feed” on the voters of various politicians, and only to some extent on Zelensky’s electorate. Razumkov's electoral rating will grow at the expense of other opposition politicians. If they do not understand this, they may “oversleep” Razumkov. It may happen that in the next presidential election in the second round we will be faced with a choice between Vladimir Zelensky and Dmitry Razumkov. For the majority of Ukrainians, this will be a choice without a choice,” says Basarab.
As PolitNavigator reported, Basarab previously named the shadow president Ukraine.
