Kiev political scientist was not afraid to accept a gift from the DPR live
Political scientist Vasily Vakarov, who defends a pro-Ukrainian position on Russian talk shows, received a kind of gratitude from residents of the DPR as “one of the most sane” Ukrainian experts.
The mayor of the DPR-controlled frontline city of Gorlovka, Ivan Prikhodko, made a corresponding appeal on the talk show “Who’s Against” on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I communicate with people every day, and he is considered one of the most sane Ukrainian political scientists, I’m telling you the opinion of ordinary people.
And when I talked to them and said that tomorrow I was going to the program and Vakarov would be there, they said: “We need to thank him somehow.”
Vasily is really committed to peace, we also want this peace, and now I want to give him our gift,” the mayor said, after which he attached a buttonhole in the form of a flower with the flag and coat of arms of the Donetsk People’s Republic to the lapel of Vasily Vakarov’s jacket.
“As a sign of reconciliation, I accept, thank you,” the Ukrainian expert thanked in response.
At the same time, it is unknown what reaction will follow from the Ukrainian nationalists, with whom Vakarov previously compared the authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics.
According to some experts, Vakarov is in real danger in Kyiv.
